Casa Montessori

NMCLA offers year round programming for Casa aged students.

Both part and full time classroom and childcare programs are available.

The classroom invites concentration, precision and order in an aesthetically pleasing environment in which the children learn respect and kindness towards one another and the materials around them.  We offer a low student to teacher ratio, encouraging maximum learning potential.

Our program is based on the Montessori method and provides a nurturing environment that helps children develop by letting them learn to be creative, use critical thinking, problem solving and time management skills.

Our focus is nurturing the five areas of Montessori Education, which includes:

• Practical Life
• Mathematics
• Sensorial
• Language
• Geography & Culture

8:00 – 8:30am Extended Before School Care (available upon request)

8:30 – 9:00am  Arrival time:  The Directress greets children and parents at the front door. The children, with the help of the directress, will place all personal belongings in cubbies and change into their indoor shoes.

Work Cycle 1

9:00 – 9:30am Morning Snack: Upon arrival, students will wash their hands and gather in the cafeteria as to eat one snack from their lunch bag.

9:30 – 10:00am Circle Time: The children will participate in group activities which include songs, calendar, weather and presentation of Montessori material.

10:00 – 11:30am Montessori Materials: Students work through the five areas of the classroom: Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language and Cultural materials, with the guidance and careful observation of the Directresses.

11:30 – 12:00am Lunch 

12:00 – 1:00pm Free play

Our half day students will be dismissed at 12:30pm.

1:30 – 3:00pm  Montessori Materials

3:00 – 3:30pm  Afternoon Snack

3:30pm Dismissal

3:30 – 5:00pm Extended After School Care (available upon request)
